First of all I know it’s February and yet here I am writing my review for the December box I received from this company called Makeup Box. I was just too busy during December and then January was crazy too. I’m about to receive my February box (it’s a bi-monthly subscription) so I figured I needed to get to writing.
Makeup Box is a bi-monthly subscription box in Guatemala, it costs around $35 (I pay Q260). What I love about this box is that they always include a product from a local brand – but more about that below. Let’s get to it!
Here is what came in my box. Honestly I was quite impressed by the selection of product. As you can see, you get some sample sized products and some full size ones too. In this picture I’m missing a t-shirt that came with it (yes, they sent me a t-shirt) from 502 Beauty Lash. It also came with a pop-socket with the Makeup box logo which to be honest, I haven’t used.
Here is the t-shirt that came in the box. The green card with the Reindeer was a gift card that I could use to get my lashes done. I ended up giving it away to a friend who loves getting her lashes done, she was very excited. I’m more of a “just mascara” type of girl but I do wear falsies once in a while. The shirt I use when I go to the gym, it’s lightweight and very comfy, so it was a nice surprise to see it in my box.
The next item is this Sayab Golden Mask. This is locally made and it’s the type of products that Makeup Box will always include to support local artisans and shops. I love it because it gives me the opportunity to test out local brands. This mask is made with honey and ground bee pollen. It claims to help get rid of toxins, minimize the look of scars, it’s anti-inflamatory and anti-bacterial (so helps if you have acne). It also nourishes the skin and stimulates collagen production; it hydrates and is good for all skin types. Now I have tried this mask a couple of times and I am in love with it – it smells great and leaves my skin feeling hydrated, plump and very soft.
I use the AOA mask brush to apply my Golden mask. I am honestly loving this brush, I feel it’s more hygenic than just using my fingers and I can spread the product better than if I’m using any other brush. I’ve used the AOA mask brush with other couple of masks that I have and its seriously the best! It’s so easy to clean since it’s silicone and it’s a small brush so it doesn’t take up a lot of space.
Another great product was this Global Beauty Care Collagen Under-Eye pads. They had a refreshing feel on the skin. It claims to be an anti-wrinkle serum, and help prevent fine lines, wrinkles, and reduce dark under eye shadows. It really is a soothing therapy.
I also received two deluxe size products: The Dr. Roebuck’s No Worries Hydrating face moisturizer and the Origins Mega-Mushroom relief & resilience soothing treatment lotion. The face moisturizer was 0.50 fl oz and the Origins lotion 1 fl oz. I love both of these, especially the Origins one that I’ve been wanting to try out for a while now.
Last, but definitely not least, I received a Stila Glitter & Glow liquid eye shadow in Smoky Storm. Honestly this box made my day when I saw this one was included. I have used this one only once but it is so amazing. Now I think that I should be using it more…
Well, that is it for the December box. I have some other reviews coming up! I will be doing the February box review in a couple of days, but I already know I am loving it! I think this sub box is totally worth it! Let me know what you think about this in the comments below. Have an awesome day!
